From the announcement dated November 22, 2021, by the State Election Commission, general and division / mid-term / by-elections of Gram Panchayats in addition to the estimated 10879 of the state in December 2021 have been announced. Pursuant to which election notices and declarations were published in the respective Gram Panchayats on November 29, 2021, and forms were filled from November 29, 2021, to December 4, 2021, to become the Sarpanch and Ward Member of the Gram Panchayats according to the local self-government elections. So let me tell you the details of the eligibility provision for entitlement.

Eligibility for entitlement
- The person must be over 21 years of age.
- Name must be in the voter list.
- Must not be a government employee.
- The person should not be mentally ill or insane.
- Should not be convicted by a court.
- Must have no more than two children.
- The house should have toilet facilities.
- There is no limit on education, even an illiterate person can contest elections.

Documents required for candidature of Sarpanch and member: –
- Certificate of Talati-cum-Minister for non-payment of any Panchayat / Government debt
- Talati-cum-Minister’s Certificate that the toilet is in working condition in addition to the toilet facility at the place of residence of the candidate.
- Birth Certificate / School Leaving Certificate (L.C.) in case the candidate is around 21 years of age.
- Recent passport size photos
- Copy of Ration Card, Election Card / Aadhaar Card
- Candidates appearing in the reserved category should have the caste certificate of the competent officer of each caste.
- Part 7, 8 of the letter of candidature will have to be filled in the affidavit regarding crime/imprisonment matters and part 9 in the affidavit regarding the property.
- The general information along with the letter of entitlement must include details including children, income, mobile number.
- Basis of birth of all children in case children are born after 04/08/2005.
- In addition to the above, required matters / proofs have to be submitted as per the latest instructions of the State Election Commission.
